Hi everyone! My name is Jefferson Bacquey, and I’m excited to share with you Endurance, a free, coop PvP game set entirely inside submarines, where teams need to work together to outsmart other opponents.
After working as an outsourcing manager for a year. I wanted to grow my management skills and take on a project where I could refine my ability to coordinate a team and oversee a complete game development process.
As the project and Art lead, my role was to manage a team of four core members: two programmers, a tech artist, and myself who was actively participating in the production of assets and environment.
We also collaborated with amazing contractors, including a character artist, two concept artists, a sound designer, and a composer.
With a lot of different people working each on their own specialty, the priority was to ensure that everything was running smoothly, and made sure that nobody was missing any important elements from someone else.
To achieve this I designed and maintained the project pipeline, breaking down the game into clear milestones, and setting realistic timelines to keep the team efficient.
One of the most important parts of this whole process was to spot and fix any bottlenecks quickly, ensuring that everyone always had clear tasks to work on and stayed productive to make best use of our limited time.
I was also in charge of reviewing the work from our contractors, gave feedback to keep everything aligned with our vision, and made sure the quality was always top-notch.
After six months of hard work, we delivered a fully functional and playable game. It features high-quality visuals, a bug-free experience, and excellent feedback from over 200 playtesters.
